Kaitlin Olson, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Kaitlin Olson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. My therapeutic approach involves exploring your past to identify and change current problem behaviors. I believe gaining insight and healing from past experiences and relationships is key to finding peace in your life. My approach I use a combination of theoretical approaches, blending attachment theory and cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify and change problematic areas in their lives. My focus I work with adults, teenagers, and families navigating difficult circumstances and relationships. I have many years of experience with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and parenting challenges. My communication style My initial goal is for you to feel comfortable. I value building a relationship, so getting to know one another is important. I will take time to settle any nerves and answer questions about therapy. I want to know not only what troubles you but also about your life, interests, and what brings you joy. My journey to mental healthcare As a teenager, I thought therapists were amazing! I found it fascinating that through words, you could help someone change their life. I was often my friends' ?therapist,? so becoming this type of helper came naturally. Many of us could have used a good therapist when younger (me included), so I strive to be that for my clients. My goals for you I provide education on goal-setting and examples of typical goals and benefits we may set together. I value your input and will leave it to you to guide me in what goals you have for yourself.
