My practice assists Black clients across North America who are impacted by a range of concerns including trauma, anxiety, and depression through a racially-sensitive treatment approach. We also work with individual clients seeking to improve their self-concept by understanding and processing the impact of historical and generational racial trauma on their relationships with themselves, their families, their friends, and their partners. We are a team of therapists who strive to fully understand our clients and their needs to create an optimized approach to meet their goals. We specialize in working primarily with individual adult clients to help them deal with issues such as infidelity, communication, stress management, anger management, relationship building, sexuality, etc. At Yolo Therapy, our ultimate goal is the well-being of our clients. For various reasons, many clients are unable to access traditional therapy settings but we do not believe that should prevent them from receiving exceptional services. Yolo Therapy caters to the needs of those who need alternative options to therapy and we are here to help you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As Black therapists, we are able to offer perspectives and insights that not only come from professional training but also personal lived experience. We empathize with our clients while also providing them with a level of support that has often been lacking in their lives for some time. Simply put, we are relatable and our clients really appreciate that quality about us.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our therapeutic process is intentional about ensuring therapeutic alignment between clients and providers throughout the therapeutic journey. Our process begins with an initial consultation to determine therapeutic compatibility with our practice and therapeutic model. Clients are then paired and set up for an initial intake appointment with a primary clinician. We are intentional about incorporating a collaborative approach to treatment to ensure clients' needs are met from a holistic and grounded approach.
