Getting to know Kandice Witherspoon
Hello, and welcome. My name is Kandice Witherspoon, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey with more than 20 years of experience providing mental health services throughout Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia regions. I earned a Master of Science in Community Counseling from Springfield College in 2005 and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Waynesburg University in 2011.
Over the course of my career, I have worked with emotionally vulnerable populations in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community mental health agencies, outpatient programs, and private practice. I have experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
My areas of specialization include depression, generalized anxiety disorder, trauma, stress management, and life transitions. I also have experience working with individuals living with chronic medical conditions, including Parkinson's disease, and understand the emotional and psychological challenges that can accompany long-term health concerns.
In addition to providing therapy, I have four years of experience supervising master's-level clinicians in BHRS and outpatient settings. I also completed a two-year certification program in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through a mental health agency partnership with the Beck Institute.
Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable being themselves. While therapy is important work, I also believe that a genuine, lighthearted approach can help foster trust and connection.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
