I have been in the mental health profession for well over 20 years, engaging in various roles such as vocational training, community engagement, crisis management, and as a licensed professional counselor. I hold an MEd in Community Counseling from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. My approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, always prioritizing the individual’s needs and goals at the forefront of therapy. My approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, always prioritizing the individual’s needs and goals. It targets core belief systems and uses a person centered approach that helps develop coping skills to manage the symptoms of depression and anxiety. It builds confidence helps identify underlying problems that contribute to poor mental health.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients will learn ways to cope with life's challenges and develop the skills to self regulate symptoms of anxiety or depression. Most clients will build on their self esteem as the explore the past, present and future. They will gain a better understanding of how their values and beliefs form and determine if those beliefs and values are accurate.
