Welcome, my name is Karen Aparcana, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Massachusetts Global. My approach My therapeutic approach is a combination of Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy theories. My focus I typically work with children and adolescents (5 to 17 years old) and adults between the ages of 18 and 25. I also work with families. I am fluent in Spanish and welcome clients who speak Spanish. I am comfortable treating individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and those dealing with issues related to past traumas. My communication style My priority is to create a safe space for clients by maintaining unconditional positive regard. My journey to mental healthcare As a first-generation Latina, I grew up witnessing the need for mental health support in my community. I pursued a career as a therapist to live a fulfilling life while helping others along their journey. My goals for you I use a collaborative approach to set goals. My first session with you Our first session will allow me to get to know you, build rapport, and gain an understanding of the symptoms and issues you are presenting with.
