Getting to know Karen Bucur

I am an experienced Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the State of Florida, dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families cope with addictions, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other life stressors. What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for you to be authentic about what is causing you distress and offer you specialized and compassionate support to help you find a path towards healing, hope, and a renewed perspective. I have over 28 years of experience in Europe working with children, youth, families, and other vulnerable populations in crisis. I strive to fully understand everyone’s unique challenges and help them find a path towards healing, hope, and a renewed perspective using evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EDMR).

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I often use CBT, talk therapy or EMDR in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate approach to help you find a path towards healing, hope, and a renewed perspective. Often our thoughts can affect both our emotions and experience. During treatment, I will help you work through any negative thought patterns that have left you feeling stuck and help you make steps towards setting important life goals, enjoying meaningful relationships, and feeling good again! You may be hesitant to reach out for help and support. I want to encourage you to reach out today as you don't have to figure this out alone.
