Getting to know Karen Conner-Wilson

Good Day. I'm Karen. Learning how to cope with change can be difficult. Are there times when you feel as if friends and family misunderstand you? Do you find yourself struggling with change, making it hard to adapt to new environments? If so, I am here to help! I have worked in social services and mental health for over 10 years. As a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor for over 7 years, I have collaborated with agencies and organizations within the New York City area to address the needs of individuals and families, including those struggling to heal from the impact of anxiety, depression, and various addictions that can affect both young people and adults alike. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University, which has deepened my understanding and skills in supporting clients through complex challenges. When collaborating with an individual, I provide support regardless of your socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, or other personal backgrounds. I am particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of transition, such as stress, loss, academic issues, employee challenges, coping skills, and marriage and family conflict-times when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt may emerge.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients to explore core beliefs about themselves, others, and the systems they exist within, co-creating practical strategies tailored to each client and their life journey. I will work with you to help you understand physical responses to external stressors and begin to problem-solve ways to introduce moments of calm, to choose to respond rather than react in the face.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
