Hi, I am Karen Galvin, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana. I have provided 30 years of service for children, teens, adults, couples and aging populations. My experiences as a clinician include home-based counseling, outpatient therapy, residential and long-term psychiatric treatment and hospital care. My training and practice experiences bring a strong developmental background, with ability to serve a broad range of issues throughout the life span with care, compassion and competence.? My counseling style is positive, strength based, collaborative and flexible. I strive to meet you where you are, listening and assisting you to understand yourself and others better, and to work through challenges to cope effectively and thrive. I want you to look forward to your sessions and feel yourself grow in confidence and capability. Some tools I may bring to assist you in meeting your needs and reaching your goals include a person-centered approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution focused therapy, EMDR, Gottman Method, hypnosis and mindfulness. I will tailor strategies and treatment plans with you to meet your individual needs and style. Friends, family (including pets), community and time outside help me recharge. Cooking and sharing good food, trying something new and seeing new places keep me motivated and content as well.
