Getting to know Karen Hobbs

I grew up in an upper-middle-class family in the suburbs of Northern Virginia. My desire to become a therapist was influenced by childhood traumas which created a desire within me to make deep connections with people and to create a safe and non-judgmental place for them to land. I believe that healing is a journey and is best addressed in the presence of someone safe, who can provide a soothing and secure environment, and who takes the time to see you. An environment where one is truly known and freed from internalized shame and pain. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. Today you are one step closer to a new you, where you begin to feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. Open to working with adolescents ages 13 and older.
