Welcome to your therapy journey! I am Karen Poindexter, and I earned my master's degree in social work from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I believe that each person is unique and has a story, yet often barriers in life impact the ability to tell that story. I utilize a strength-based perspective and view counseling as my calling to assist individuals in regaining balance in their lives. I incorporate Christianity and faith-based principles into counseling. The ability to guide someone on the path of decreasing depression, anxiety, conflict, or merely not feeling heard is an honor that I do not take lightly. Sometimes it can feel uncertain, even scary, to take the step to begin therapy. However, you are so worth it, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
