Karen Reiss, LCSW

Psychotherapist
PA
Hi, I am honored you are taking time out of your day to consider me as your therapist. Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I understand that feeling and am here to assist individuals like yourself - thoughtful, resilient, and ready to face the hard things, even when they feel confusing or uncertain - through empathy, compassion, and at times, challenge. I take a client-centered, collaborative approach to therapy adapting techniques to your unique needs and goals. I look forward to meeting you and beginning your healing journey. My approach My approach to care is grounded in presence, compassion, and collaborative exploration. 20 years of experience and a deeply integrative model allow us to weave together Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, attachment theory, and compassion-focused therapy just to name a few. I meet you where they are, with curiosity and respect for your unique story. Whether it's grief that others expect you to "get over," the heaviness of depression, or the complexity of anxiety, you can take your time. I may be able to help you become more connected to your internal experience—body, mind, and emotion—while gently guiding you toward clarity about your values and how to live in alignment with them. My focus Are you quietly asking, “How do I keep going like this?” or “Who am I now?” I work with clients who are often carrying invisible emotional weight; you may be navigating life after loss, living with persistent depression or anxiety and emotional numbness all while attempting to wrestling with the managing of family, parenting, and work. You may be a professional, a helper, or caretaker who feels emotionally worn yet still deeply wants to show up for others. Equally, you may be at a place in your healing were you are working through trauma, building coping skills, or exploring your personal goals. I can help you to create a plan for growth.
