Karen Stein is a Board-Certified Marriage and Family Therapist, bilingual in English and Spanish, with a wealth of experience working with individuals, groups, and families. Her professional background includes work in outpatient mental health clinics, schools, community health organizations, and the Juvenile and Adult Probation Department. Karen earned her Master’s degree from Alliant International University in San Diego County in 2007, and she was recognized with the Youth and Family Counselor of the Year Award from the Juvenile Probation Department in 2008. Her therapeutic approach is shaped by her personal experiences with mental health issues, living in diverse cultures, and residing in different countries. She is grounded in the belief of respecting all people and fostering an inclusive and supportive space for healing. Karen is highly skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, and she is a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist. As an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor, she has also facilitated groups for convicted individuals, addressing topics like child abuse and domestic violence in both English and Spanish. Karen believes in a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with her clients and their families to guide them toward growth and well-being. She looks forward to the opportunity to support individuals on their mental health journey.
