Beginning therapy is a meaningful step—a thoughtful act of care for yourself. I’m glad you’re here. I work with both emerging and established adults from all backgrounds and identities who are navigating things like anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Whatever you're carrying, you don't have to go through it alone. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to untangle what's feeling heavy. Together, we'll work toward relief, insight, and a greater sense of clarity. When you're living with depression or anxiety, even small things can feel overwhelming. In our work together, I’ll help you build practical tools that feel doable in your daily life—things you can actually use when things get hard. I use evidence-supported approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy, but we'll always tailor the work to what fits you best. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and I'll always respect your pace and preferences. We might also explore ways to reconnect with your body and nervous system— through mindfulness, movement, time in nature, or whatever feels grounding for you. These kinds of practices can be especially helpful when you're feeling stuck, disconnected, and overwhelmed. Most of all, I want therapy to feel like a supportive space where you can breathe, reflect, and start to feel more like yourself again. Are you feeling numb or weighed down by emotional or physical pain? Maybe anxiety has you constantly on edge, or you carry the quiet, invisible burden of chronic pain. You might feel dismissed or unseen by others—or perhaps you’ve started to feel disconnected from yourself, unsure of who you are or where to turn. If any of this resonates, please know you’re not alone. It’s okay to not feel okay.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I bring warmth, curiosity, patience, and genuine care to our work together. You can expect me to listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and be direct when it feels helpful to your growth. Therapy isn’t always easy—but you won’t be doing it alone. I’ll be here to support, encourage, and gently challenge you along the way. While our relationship is grounded in clear boundaries and ethical care, it’s also a meaningful connection—one where we may both be impacted and changed in powerful ways. Your feedback is always welcome, and I see it as an important part of making sure our work feels safe, collaborative, and aligned with your needs. I’ve always been drawn to understanding people and their stories. That curiosity began in childhood through a love of fiction and evolved into writing human interest pieces as a teen. After a career in bank marketing, I felt the pull toward more meaningful, people-centered work—eventually leading me to earn my Master of Social Work degree. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients across a range of settings, including college counseling, correctional mental health, primary care, and private practice. Each experience has strengthened my belief in the healing potential of a supportive, authentic therapeutic relationship. I’m deeply committed to expanding access to care, reducing the stigma around mental health, and practicing in ways that honor cultural identities and lived experiences. This includes an ongoing dedication to anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approaches in my clinical work. To help keep our work focused and effective, we'll set goals together, based on what matters to you most. These might include things like improving mood, feeling more confident, moving your body more regularly, or shifting how you relate to pain and stress. Your goals don’t have to be set in stone. They can change as you grow, heal, or discover new priorities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, explore parts of your background, and clarify what healing or change might look like for you. It’s completely normal to feel nervous or uncertain at the start—I'll do my best to make the process feel approachable, supportive, and collaborative. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that honors your needs, values, and goals. When helpful, we can use research-backed tools to check in on progress—but we’ll always center your voice and lived experience in guiding our work. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your story.
