What should a new client know about working with you?

Welcome, and thank you for stopping by! My name is Karie Bliss, and I'm thrilled to connect with you. What is your typical process for working with clients?

In your first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy. Together we will set clear, specific, goals that can help you measure your progress. I often use strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems in my practice, but may employ a variety of different treatment types to support you for your specific wants and needs. For depression and or trauma, I would normally work with you for 8 or more sessions with cognitive behavioral therapy. We may include other empirical therapies, which we could discuss. Most patients see gradual lifting of symptoms within a month and consistent improvement thereafter. For anxiety and panic, we work through mindfulness and grounding techniques to help you feel less overwhelmed.
