The state of our mental health is something that impacts us all. The better our mental health, the better we show up for friends, our partners, our families, our coworkers, and even ourselves. It’s hard to put your all into your relationships and your responsibilities when part of you is preoccupied/distracted with your anxiety, your stress, your depression, your trauma, that rough breakup, discrimination, grieving, etc. I know because I’ve been there before. Being vulnerable, opening up, and seeking help was hard for me. Especially since I, as a man of color, was conditioned not to and was instead conditioned to “tough it out”, but I knew that it was something I had to do in order to heal and become the best version of myself. We all deserve to be provided with the tools necessary to navigate our journeys and heal from our trauma, let go of the past, face our fears, cope with grief, deal with stress, change our negative views of ourselves, and more - this is where I come in. Life can be a bumpy road, but I can be your GPS, helping you navigate that road and pointing you in the right direction towards your next destination - the best version of yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach combines aspects of a few modalities, the main 2 being Psychodynamic therapy and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). I incorporate Psychodynamic therapy because I belieive that our past or uprbinging played a large role in shaping the person we are today. It’s important to take a look at the patterns we’ve learned, unlearn some of them, and create new ones. I incorporate CBT is because I also find it important to reframe the way we view situations, the way react to them, the way view ourselves, etc. My personality combines many aspects as well, including being easygoing enough to make you feel comfortable and safe while also being firm and direct enough to be able to hold you accountable. I look forward to working with you and being your GPS. I’m ready to hit the road when you are.
