CA
Hi there, I'm Karla Caceres, LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor). I earned my Master's in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. My approach is very much tailored to each client. I draw from different therapeutic models to provide the most appropriate care. Most commonly, I utilize cognitive-behavioral, trauma-focused, mindfulness, psychoanalytic, culturally affirming, person-centered, narrative, and play therapy approaches. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, generational trauma, behavioral difficulties in children and adolescents, life changes such as divorce, separation, custodial issues, immigration or deportation, relational stressors, and work-related stress. I strive to create a comfortable, empathic, and welcoming environment where clients feel heard and included. I enjoy learning from my clients and understanding their unique stories. My passion for mental healthcare stems from a lifelong desire to assist those in need, especially marginalized individuals who may feel unheard or misunderstood. I value hearing how their experiences have shaped them and what they hope to achieve or change to reach their goals. I begin by exploring the client's reasons for seeking therapy and what they want to work on. I use SMART goals-specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely-to help clients succeed in meeting their desired outcomes. Our first session is relaxed and focused on getting to know each other while ensuring you feel comfortable and safe in the space provided.
