Sometimes the hardest part isn’t knowing that you’re struggling—it’s feeling like the strategies that seem to work for everyone else just don’t work for you. You may feel overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities, struggle with organization or follow-through, experience anxiety, or wonder why seemingly simple tasks require so much energy. Over time, this can leave you feeling frustrated, misunderstood, or questioning yourself. I work with teens and adults navigating ADHD, Autism, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. I also provide bilingual therapy in English and Spanish, creating a space where clients can communicate in the language that feels most comfortable and authentic to them. My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and neurodiversity-affirming. Rather than focusing on changing who you are, our work centers on understanding how your brain works, identifying your strengths and challenges, and developing strategies that fit your individual needs. Therapy should not require you to force yourself into systems that were never designed with you in mind. Together, we may explore patterns related to procrastination, organization, motivation, emotional regulation, anxiety, communication, routines, or feeling overwhelmed by daily responsibilities. We’ll also identify practical strategies that can help make life feel more manageable while building greater confidence and self-understanding. You deserve a space where your experiences are understood rather than judged. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, develop tools that work for you, and feel more confident navigating life in a way that honors who you are.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t have to come to therapy with everything organized or know exactly what you want to work on. Maybe you’ve spent years wondering why certain things seem harder for you than they do for others. Maybe you’re constantly overwhelmed, struggling to stay organized, procrastinating even when something is important, or feeling frustrated because you know what you need to do but have difficulty getting started. We can begin wherever you are. My therapy style is warm, supportive, collaborative, and practical. I want our sessions to feel like a place where you can talk openly without feeling judged or pressured to present a certain version of yourself. I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach, which means we won’t view differences in how you think, process, communicate, or function as something that automatically needs to be “fixed.” Therapy with me is also active and intentional. Along with processing what you’re experiencing, we may identify patterns, explore triggers, learn more about how ADHD or Autism can show up in everyday life, and develop strategies for executive functioning, emotional regulation, communication, organization, or managing overwhelm. Most importantly, the strategies we develop need to work for you. Instead of repeatedly trying systems that leave you feeling unsuccessful, we’ll explore realistic approaches that complement your strengths, needs, environment, and lifestyle. Progress may look different for every person. It could mean understanding yourself with more compassion, completing tasks with less stress, communicating your needs more confidently, creating routines that actually work, or feeling less overwhelmed by everyday life. My goal is for therapy to become a space where you feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools that help you navigate life with greater confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with understanding you, your experiences, and what you would like to change. During our initial sessions, we’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, important experiences and relationships, areas of daily life that feel difficult, and strategies you’ve already tried. Together, we’ll identify realistic goals that reflect what you want to improve while recognizing the strengths you already have. As therapy continues, we’ll begin identifying patterns connected to your concerns. For clients with ADHD, Autism, or executive functioning challenges, we may explore areas such as organization, task initiation, time management, motivation, transitions, emotional regulation, sensory or social experiences, and feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities. We may also examine anxiety, self-esteem, communication, relationships, or other concerns affecting your well-being. From there, we’ll focus on strategies tailored to your needs. This may include breaking overwhelming tasks into manageable steps, developing realistic routines, strengthening emotional regulation, improving communication, challenging negative self-talk, creating organizational systems, or identifying accommodations and supports that help you function more effectively. Therapy will include both understanding and application. It’s important to understand why certain patterns occur, but we’ll also focus on what can help in your daily life. Rather than expecting one strategy to work for everyone, we’ll experiment with different approaches and adjust them based on what works best for you. We’ll regularly revisit your goals and discuss your progress. If a strategy isn’t helping, that doesn’t mean you’ve failed—we’ll use that information to find a better fit. Ultimately, my goal is for you to understand yourself more deeply, recognize your strengths, and leave therapy with practical tools that help you navigate everyday life with greater confidence and less overwhelm.
