Hi there, I'm Karyn! Hi, my name is Dr. Karyn Felder Moore, but you can call me Dr. K. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland with a PhD in Counselor Education from Loyola College. I have over 20 years of experience co-journeying with individuals and couples as they explore self-discovery, identify strengths, and engage in healing. With training and passion for pastoral counseling, I integrate a client’s faith and spirituality as a resource to address life transitions. My approach As a seasoned clinician, I am comfortable working from various theoretical orientations, particularly Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic frameworks. Recently, I have focused on becoming skilled in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), an evidence-based approach supported by research. Each session begins with hope, shifting focus from problems to what you most desire. This honors your agency and autonomy. My focus I typically work with adolescents and adults (young adulthood to middle age) experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress. I also see adults ready to heal past wounds and seeking trauma-focused therapy. My communication style My style is calm, relaxed, positive, and supportive. I aim to create a comfortable, safe, nonjudgmental space. As an active listener, I communicate understanding and respect through feedback and questions that promote growth and healing. I also believe laughter is healing, so when appropriate, a little levity goes a long way as a balm.
