Getting to know Kate Larsen

Sometimes you just can't. You have been trying so hard for so long but feel like a failure. You just don't adult like other people. This can show up as Anxiety, Depression, or even symptoms like OCD or Social Anxiety. Often, this pain relates to trauma-whether a history of serious abuse with PTSD or painful life experiences you assumed were not such a big deal. This is where I can help. I love using my skills to support people struggling with emotional pain and daily life challenges. I want you to see yourself and the world in a new way-to stop experiencing days that feel like a dumpster fire, to feel hopeful about your life, to feel safe, and to accept your imperfections and like yourself anyhow. When we work together, it probably won't be like other therapy you have tried. We will work at your pace and focus on what matters most to you. I am trained in therapies that address both your thinking and your emotions. I use several forms of Cognitive Therapy, EMDR, and Ericksonian (non-directive) Hypnosis. I hold a Master's in Counseling from the University of West Florida, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, effective care tailored to your unique needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

"We will begin by taking some life history. It's okay if you need to take your time to tell your story. We will have the time. We will start identifying what are your current pain points. We will identify what you want for yourself and your life. I will share options for treatment and we will develop a treatment plan. Every session We will look at what has gone well in your life and what has not gone so well. Then we will work directly on your specific strategies for change. Every week we will check in to how you are using your new tools in between sessions. We will collaborate to find out what works and what does not fit."

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
