Getting to know Katelyn Crawford

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR-trained therapist, I provide a supportive, compassionate space for individuals who are ready to better understand themselves, work through difficult experiences, and create meaningful change. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, overwhelm, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the effects of past experiences. My approach is personalized and collaborative, incorporating evidence-based therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation strategies based on each client's individual needs and goals. I believe therapy should feel human and genuine. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Together, we can explore what is contributing to your current challenges, build practical tools for coping, and work toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up as a real person, not like you have to say the “right” things or have everything figured out before you begin. My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized to you. I want to understand your experiences, your goals, and what is actually getting in the way of you feeling better. I draw from approaches including EMDR, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and other evidence-based therapies. Depending on your needs, our work may include processing past experiences, understanding patterns, building practical coping skills, or simply creating space to slow down and make sense of what you are experiencing. I won't pretend to have all the answers about your life. I see therapy as something we do together. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more connected to your own needs and strengths, and create meaningful changes that feel sustainable in your real life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. During our first sessions, we will talk about your current concerns, relevant life experiences, what you would like to change, and what you hope to get from our work together. From there, we will collaboratively develop goals and determine an approach that fits your needs. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and sessions may look different depending on what you are experiencing. Some sessions may focus on processing emotions or past experiences, while others may involve identifying patterns, learning practical coping strategies, strengthening boundaries, or working on nervous system regulation. I incorporate evidence-based approaches, including EMDR when appropriate, while moving at a pace that feels manageable for you. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where you can be honest about what is going on and actively participate in shaping your therapy experience.
