Kate has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and an array of mental health diagnoses including but not limited to: Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as diagnoses with psychotic features, such as Schizophrenia. Kate has the most experience in treating trauma of all kinds including child abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and religious trauma. She is passionate about empowering those who have, at one time or another, felt stripped of their power and are ready to reclaim it. Kate provides trauma informed care, practices cultural humility, and utilizes an integrated approach pulling from many different modalities based on a client’s needs. With this, she always holds central two things: you are the expert on your own life and story, and your past experiences inform who you are today. Some of the approaches she incorporates include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Kate views the therapeutic process as a collaborative one, and encourages conversation regarding how the process feels for both parties. She acknowledges that trust is not always given easily and strives to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for clients to share their stories.
