Katherine Butler, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I will help you break old patterns, understand yourself, and move forward with clarity. I'm direct, attuned, and deeply human. Therapy with me is honest, grounded, and genuinely supportive. My approach blends insight, emotional attunement, and practical strategies to help you move forward with intention. I create a grounded, supportive space My approach I draw on ACT, Narrative therapy, attachment theory, and trauma-informed approaches, but I'm always guided by what actually works for you. Together, we explore beliefs, stories, and survival strategies that have shaped your life, especially the ones that may have once served you but no longer do. My focus I work with individuals and couples across the lifespan. My clients range from children learning how to express big feelings, to teens navigating identity and pressure, to adults facing relationship patterns, anxiety, or major life transitions. I also work with couples stuck in repetitive conflict, unsure of how to communicate without escalating. My communication style My communication style is direct, warm, and deeply attuned. I am not a therapist who sits quietly and nods while you talk-I'm engaged, curious, and responsive. I bring a human, relatable presence into the room. I'm comfortable using humor when it fits, asking thoughtful questions, and acknowledging the complexity of what you are facing. My journey to mental healthcare I started therapy myself during a difficult period of my life. With therapy, I was able to see my way out of this situation and into a new, more positive life. I became a therapist because I wanted to give what I had received. In my previous life, I was a music teacher; I still hold a strong connection to the arts.
