Hi there, I'm Katherine! Welcome! I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family conflicts, motivation, self-esteem & confidence. I also have experience working with coping with life changes and parenting issues. In my practice, I have worked with families, individuals, and children/teens. I find it deeply rewarding to work with clients to reach their goals and achieve overall better well-being. I create a strong relationship with my clients by giving them an environment where all of their feelings are welcome. My approach I believe that the most healing part of therapy comes from the formation of a strong therapeutic relationship. Your experience and goals are my primary focus. In my practice, I primarily use a Humanistic approach to focus on you as a whole person and draw on your innate ability to grow and feel happy, as well as a Psychodynamic approach to explore your past and recognize unhelpful patterns that may be getting in the way in your current life. My focus I have experience helping clients with issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, and family and relationship problems. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. As a woman of color, I am especially passionate about working with female BIPOC children, adolescents, and adults. My communication style I value providing an open, non-judgmental space. I do this by practicing active listening and asking open-ended questions. My journey to mental healthcare I have always had a curiosity about how people think and a desire to help others. These interests led me on a path to pursuing therapy as a career. I studied psychology in undergrad and then went on to pursue a master’s in social work. During my time in graduate school, I gained knowledge about development through the lifespan.
