Getting to know Katherine Hayes

I’ve worked with children and adolescents for over ten years, but shifted my practice to focus on women, with a particular focus on maternal mental health. Why? Because I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges and nuances of being a woman in the 21st century. Careers, relationships, global events, motherhood, trauma…the list goes on. It all shapes who we are and how we navigate through the world. I believe women deserve more support, validation, and space to explore both who they are and who they want to become. Women’s mental health has been neglected for generations-let’s change that. You and your unique experiences matter. Ending the stigma related to women’s mental health is something I’m passionate about and I am reminded daily of the privilege it is to work with clients throughout their intimate journey of mental health. Before becoming a therapist, I was a Montessori teacher. I’ve worked in community mental health, schools, outpatient hospitals, and private practice settings. Happy to share more about my journey!
