What should a new client know about working with you?

The purpose of therapy is to discover your own truth , strengths and solutions. We will engage in open meaningful conversations as we explore your feelings, thoughts and the unhelpful patterns you contend with. Through my style of insight oriented psychotherapy, you may feel better able to manage yourself , worry less about judgement or rejection ,learn from your feelings, take the reins of your thoughts and let go of bad habits. I enjoy the process and strive to make each session meaningful. I care about my clients and truly feel privileged to be trusted with their personal struggles and pain.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions we will explore your goals, values and stressors. I will assess for safety/risk and offer information and referrals if appropriate. Then we will begin to figure out your underlying needs /goals and decide how to best go about getting those needs met in healthier ways. Often times this means developing new habits and practicing new skills. I enjoy the process of discovery and find that my clients are often clear about what upsets them but not as clear on their own patterns of contribution or underlying needs.
