Getting to know Katherine Pixley

I DO NOT DO ANY MEDICATION MANAGEMENT Hello! I am a board-certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I hold a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Antioch University and a Bachelor’s degree from Wright State University. I strive to assist my clients in moving through challenging experiences by helping them understand the power of the mind/body connection. The hope is that once this connection is better understood, an individual can reconnect fully to their life. Having personally experienced the powerful and transformative aspects of combining Dance/Movement Therapy with traditional talk therapy approaches—such as person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, and reality therapy—my understanding of how best to support my clients throughout their personal journeys to wholeness has been strengthened. I have had the privilege to work in community, school, and hospital environments, as well as private practice settings, with clients ranging from children to adults. These experiences have provided me with an extensive understanding of how unique each therapy process truly can be. This has allowed me to become skilled in building individualized treatment plans for each client. I hope to have the opportunity to talk further with you about the areas where you seek personal growth.
