Getting to know Katherine Reen-Jovin

Hi! I'm Kate. I'm an AuDHD clinical social worker with a passion for working with other neurospicy folk! My profile says I only work with women, but that's not true. At this time, I work with "ABCD"—"All But Cis Dudes." Sorry, cis dudes. I especially love to help people who were socialized as girls in the late 20th-century patriarchy, and/or who are navigating the 21st-century patriarchy as women or femmes learn boundary-setting and move forward from people-pleasing and codependency. My goal is for all of my clients to be at least thoroughly exposed to the idea of a positive disabled identity, and my hope is that my clients will come away armed with radical self-love. My approach to therapy is eclectic, incorporating mindfulness, sensory and somatic awareness, and cultivating love and self-compassion through purposeful engagement with physical self-care and (the only cognitive thing you'll hear me advocate) rewriting your inner monologue. My therapeutic work is inspired by Internal Family Systems and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and is a Lived Experience Informed Practice (LEIP). I incorporate mindfulness, body-based calming strategies, and sensory management techniques. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Simmons College of Kentucky, which has deeply informed my commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive care.
