Katherine Vasquez, BS

Psychotherapist
FL
My name is Katherine Lugo, and I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern dedicated to helping children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families navigate the challenges that can affect emotional well-being and relationships. I believe that seeking therapy is an important step toward growth, and I strive to make that process feel comfortable, supportive, and meaningful for every client. I take an integrative and individualized approach to counseling. My therapeutic work incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, strengths-based techniques, psychoeducation, and emotional regulation and coping-skills development. Depending on the client’s needs, I also incorporate interventions focused on communication, relationship building, self-esteem, problem-solving, and developing healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. I have a particular interest in helping clients work through anxiety, depression, stress, relationship and family concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and difficult or traumatic experiences. With children and adolescents, I focus on creating an environment where they can feel comfortable expressing themselves while developing age-appropriate emotional and coping skills. When working with couples and families, I emphasize healthy communication, understanding different perspectives, and strengthening relationships. I also offer faith-based therapy to clients who would like their Christian beliefs to be part of their counseling experience. When requested by the client, I incorporate biblical principles, prayer, and spiritual reflection into therapy while maintaining a respectful, client-centered approach.
