Hi, I'm Kathleen. If you are here and looking, then I believe I can help you. Life can be difficult at any stage. Sometimes it is transitions, sometimes it is navigating relationships, exploring where to go next, making decisions, or simply dealing with all life is throwing your way. It can be helpful to explore ways to approach the feelings that can be overwhelming, whether they are new feelings that you are experiencing, or things you have struggled with your entire life. It isn't easy to always begin that process but as I mentioned, if you are here and reading, you have already taken the first step. I can help guide you through your journey. I graduated from Springfield College with a Master's degree in psychology. I have been a licensed mental health counselor since 2005. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, families, couples, and adults. I have worked closely with people who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as other mood disorders. I have provided therapy in people's homes, in community clinics, as well as through private practice. I was the program director of a therapeutic group home for adolescent girls and am spending my days currently working at a psychiatric facility for adolescent males. Each of these experiences has provided me with different views and perspectives of struggles that people experience and has been invaluable in expanding the work I do with others. I work with adults, using primarily a cognitive behavioral approach to utilize what people already know about themselves to help them make the changes that they want in their lives. I approach the focus of therapy as sharing alternative thoughts and ideas from a different lens, as well as to explore and challenge some of the thinking patterns that have created barriers for people to meeting their own goals. It is a process that if you are willing to begin, I am happy to help you with along the way. It is never too late to start learning new ways to feel better. If you feel ready to take the next step, I am here to support you.
