Getting to know Kathleen Higgins

Hi, I'm Kate Higgins. I'm an LCSW with over two decades of clinical experience working with adults, teenagers, and children. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University. I enjoy supporting people who are in a transition period of their lives—whether that’s making the shift from college to the workforce or navigating the midlife transition. Midlife can be a turbulent time—our bodies start changing, our faces change, our relationships shift, and we may find ourselves caretaking for our aging parents. All of these things can impact our identities.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a life long New Yorker and artist-I have an open mind and understand the complexities of living an unconventional life. If you are a seeker, artist, searcher, dreamer or late bloomer-and have struggled with not being seen or understood by mental health professionals in the past, I am her to listen to you, hold space for you and witness your healing and growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I primary work with CBT and EFT, as well as traditional talk therapy and coaching
