Hi there, I'm Kathleen! Hello, I am Katie Weldon, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in San Diego, CA. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Liberty University. My approach to therapy is eclectic and tailored to each client or couple. My clinical interests include survivors of trauma or abuse, military members and families, LGBTQIA2S+, disordered eating, couples therapy, grief counseling, and life transitions. My approach My work is feminist, trauma-informed, and allied with marginalized identities. We often incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy, Existentialism, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which I find helpful. I also have experience with Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. My focus Couples, Veterans/Active Duty Service Members or their Families, PTSD, Survivors of Abuse, LGBTQIA2S+ and Queer clients, Eating Disorders/Disordered Eating, Anxiety, and Depression. My communication style I consider myself a highly welcoming therapist and strive to create comfort for clients in office or via telehealth. I celebrate successes with you and share in hurts or tribulation. My journey to mental healthcare I have worked with clients since 2020 when the pandemic highlighted the essential nature of mental health care. As a military spouse and mother of special needs children, I have experienced therapy's healing effects firsthand. I hope to offer this same support to my clients.
