Kate Hulse is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon who has been practicing since 2012. Along with being a therapist, Kate also has experience with domestic violence, PTSD, anxiety, depression, CBT Seeking Safety, severe psychiatric disabilities, integrating somatic psychotherapy, and expressive therapies. Kate is well versed in the end of life and the planning that comes with it, such as POLST, Letters of Closure, Eulogies, Advanced Directives, and Simple Wills (California). She is trained in Prolonged Grief Therapy. Kate tries her best to meet the client where they are at. She uses a person-centered and integrative approach to all her sessions, which are viewed as spontaneous, open, and go with the flow. Kate does not have a preference of clients to work with. She does tend to gravitate towards couples and grief. Katie tries to be compassionate and direct. She practices active listening and asks for clarity when needed. Kate wants to make sure that the client can take the lead in their own work. Kate's goal is that every client feels safe, secure, and understood while learning and exploring themselves as they navigate new terrain. She does her best to validate her client's experiences and support them through their challenges and breakthroughs. A first session will likely be assessment style. Kate likes to get a snapshot of where the client is today, where they have been, and where they would like to get themselves.
