Kat approaches therapeutic work from an eclectic and collaborative perspective, but works primarily in the realm of Existential Therapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy supports to provide clients with practical skills for navigating long standing challenges, in alignment with their values and unique life experience. Clients can expect a direct, compassionate, and conversational style which invites both client and clinician to exist authentically in the therapeutic space. By reflecting on internal discoveries and here-and-now challenges in the day to day, clients will develop awareness of the wide effects of their actions and reactions, and acknowledge the historical origins of adverse circumstances to foster insight on long-standing patterns of behavior, while learning practical strategies for to interrupt or manage longstanding challenges.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients can expect the first session to feel a bit like as structured interview, before we begin integrating warmer, collaborative, and more client-focused approaches in order to most effectively address the root of the challenges, and ease the transition process into working with a new therapist! Once the working relationship is establish, clients can expect warmth, humor, and collaboration welcomed in the room as well as a a blend of practical clinical strategies and values-aligned goal setting.
