Kathryn Marrone, LCSW-R

Psychotherapist
NY
With over 20 years of clinical experience, I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating the lasting impacts of trauma, as well as those managing ongoing challenges with depression, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. My approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. I work closely with my patients to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can explore painful experiences and complex emotions at their own pace. Together, we identify patterns, process trauma, and build tools for healing—working not only to alleviate distress, but also to find meaning in the journey. My goal is to help patients reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and move toward the kind of life and relationships they want to create. A significant portion of my work centers around interpersonal growth. Whether you’re feeling stuck in difficult relationship patterns, working through family dynamics, or seeking to better understand your emotional responses in connection with others, I bring a relational lens that fosters greater clarity, connection, and personal insight. I draw from evidence-based modalities tailored to each individual, blending psychodynamic therapy with trauma-informed care and mindfulness-based approaches. Therapy with me is a collaborative experience—one where you’ll feel supported and empowered as you explore, heal, and grow. Whether you're facing a specific life challenge or looking for long-term emotional growth, I welcome the opportunity to support you on your path.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My work is focused in individual therapy with adults. Psychotherapy is a journey of self-discovery and growth. Learning to manage emotions can be really difficult. At times it can be isolating when we feel others will not understand the struggle we are experiencing. My goal is to provide a comfortable and safe space for individuals to share thoughts and experiences that have been difficult to process with loved ones. My work as a therapist is very much guided by who I am working with. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to create an environment that allows individuals to feel supported in the process of gaining a deeper understanding of themselves. The environment that I create is very focused on the individual maintaining control within the therapeutic space.
