Kathryn McCrorie, LPC

Kathryn McCrorie, LPC

Psychotherapist
5825 Glenridge Dr, Bldg 2 Ste 110, Atlanta, GA
Kathy McCrorie, LPC, takes a warm, collaborative, yet direct approach to care. She understands how overwhelming it can feel to take the first step into therapy, and she works hard to create a genuine, supportive and safe environment for all of her clients. Kathy helps individuals and couples navigate anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, self-esteem challenges, and the lasting impact of childhood experiences. She integrates evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman-informed couples therapy, and neuroscience-based interventions such as qEEG-guided neurofeedback. Her style is genuine, approachable, and practical—balancing deep exploration with real-world strategies. Kathy believes therapy should meet clients where they are, while also gently challenging patterns that no longer serve them. She partners with clients to build insight, strengthen emotional well-being, and foster meaningful, lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in science, but also flexible to fit your unique needs. You can expect me to be genuine, straightforward, and engaged—we’ll roll up our sleeves together. At times, I may gently challenge patterns that aren’t serving you, while also offering practical tools for relief and growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I’ll spend time getting to know you—your history, your current concerns, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. Think of it as a two-way conversation: you’re sharing your story, and I’m asking thoughtful questions to understand the bigger picture. From there, each session is a mix of reflection, insight, and practice. Sometimes we’ll focus on exploring patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and relationships; other times we’ll use practical tools to help with stress, anxiety, or communication. My approach is collaborative, so I’ll often check in with you about what feels most useful. I do not prescribe medication (psychiatrists and medical doctors do that). Instead, I specialize in talk therapy and brain-based approaches like neurofeedback. This means our work together focuses on helping you build insight, regulate emotions, and strengthen your relationships. You can expect a typical session to feel structured but also flexible—sometimes deep and emotional, sometimes skills-based and practical. My goal is that you leave each session with greater clarity, relief, and a sense of direction.
