What should a new client know about working with you?

I will not judge your past or present situation or the path that led you there. My counseling is forward thinking and strength based. My goal is for you to use the tools learned in counseling and take control of your own life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start off the therapeutic relationship by talking and getting to know one another in a nonjudgmental and safe space. I first want to hear you and understand what has led to you taking this brave next step of seeking help. I want to know what you would like from counseling. After you feel heard and I have a clear understanding of the issues you are struggling with, we can move forward with identifying goals in and out of counseling. Then we work to create the stepping stone path towards achieving those goals. As we walk along, we can alter or change the steps as needed so they work best for your healing journey.
