Hi! My name is Kathryn, but I go by Katie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, working with individuals across all age groups. My primary passion and specialty is supporting women and young adults who have experienced trauma, anxiety, or depression. Throughout my career, I have worked in nonprofit agencies and collaborated with the District Attorney’s Office, advocating for individuals who have been victims of crime. I approach my work with empathy and compassion, meeting each client where they are. Together, we can explore a path toward growth and develop practical tools that support your journey toward becoming a stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, taking long walks with my dog, and spending quality time with my family.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Before we begin, I want to make sure you feel informed and supported every step of the way — including when it comes to insurance. I understand how confusing insurance plans and copays can be, so I aim to be upfront and transparent to avoid any surprises with billing. I’m in-network with most major health insurance plans and happy to confirm your coverage . That said, I’m not in-network with any Medicaid plans — including AHCCCS (Arizona Medicaid) and Health First Colorado — even if they’re paired with another insurance type. Due to state regulations, I’m unable to see clients with Medicaid coverage. I genuinely wish I could work with everyone, and I know how disappointing this might feel if it applies to you. If so, I truly encourage you to reach out to your plan for a list of in-network providers who can support your needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based approach designed to support individuals who have experienced trauma. I am also trained in EMDR and incorporate mindfulness-based techniques and somatic practices into my work. These approaches help individuals reconnect with their mind and body, fostering a sense of safety, comfort, and presence within themselves. I am deeply passionate about helping clients discover their own path toward healing and personal growth. I strongly believe in the mind-body connection and that exploring and nurturing this connection is essential for meaningful, lasting change. With guidance and support, individuals can achieve true healing and emotional stability. My goal is to walk alongside you on this journey, exploring what strategies and tools will best support you as a unique individual. Together, we can create a safe and compassionate space for growth, self-discovery, and resilience.
