Maybe you've reached your limit—lots of questions, no answers. Maybe you're reacting to people and circumstances in ways that are unlike you. I want to keep it real and create a safe place where you can explore what's going on. Consider me a source of encouragement and honesty as you take on the challenges that have gotten in your way. My approach I use EMDR when appropriate and have extensive experience working with sexual assault, abuse, and different levels of trauma. I try to maintain a balance of connection, humor, and partnership. You deserve a life of your choosing, and I will help you get there. My focus I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, especially childhood trauma that still haunts them and gets in the way. We can make this experience exactly what you need and want. I usually meet with clients weekly and eventually scale back to every two weeks. My communication style This can be a very serious time, but humor can be an important part of healing when appropriate. It's okay to see humor in some pretty painful things. I think my clients feel somewhat relieved that they can take a break from being serious. My journey to mental healthcare I started in business and marketing, but it was never right for me. My natural skills were never tapped, and I needed more. I found a book and knew by the time I finished that I wanted to be a therapist, and always secretly knew it. Just needed the courage to go for it. My goals for you Collaborating when deciding on goals is the best way for me. We can create goals that are meaningful to you and measurable, so we know that we are getting somewhere. My first session with you I try to get all the necessary background information during the first session before we dig into your story. However, it doesn't always go in a straight line.
