Getting to know Katie Hitch

Hi, my name is Katie, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Maryland. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have spent my career working with children, teenagers, young adults, and families in a variety of settings, including private counseling practice, crisis counseling, and the child welfare system. I specialize in anxiety, depression, improving self-esteem, and coping with life's changes.

What should a new client know about working with you?

After our first session together, we will formulate a plan together with goals for what you want to achieve in therapy. This is a collaborative process where your voice is what ultimately matters. I individualize the session structures based on the client's needs and feedback, but in general, you can expect a non-judgmental environment where we explore what you feel is setting you back from the life you would like to have and the peace of mind you are looking for. Each session, we discuss the progress you feel you have made and what roadblocks you are experiencing to achieving your goals. Therapy is a fluid process and I work with clients to ensure that they are getting what they need out of sessions.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
