Hello and welcome! I’m Katrina, licensed professional counselor and founder of Connections Psychotherapy Services. It takes courage to reach out for help, and I’m so glad you’re taking this first step! Women are expected to show up and do it all, leaving many of us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and burnt-out. Are you struggling to cope with anxiety, depression, or caregiver stress? Are you overwhelmed with the mental load of motherhood and can't find time to meet your own needs? Maybe you struggle with parenting your high needs or neurodivergent child and wish you had more support. You take care of everyone else- it’s time to focus on you. I provide specialized, online therapy to burnt-out women and moms who feel anxious and unseen. In our work together, I’ll help you build effective coping skills, set healthy boundaries, and prioritize your self-care so you can feel calm and connected again. As a woman, I can certainly relate to the feeling of drowning in expectations and responsibilities, the worries, the guilt, the overstimulation, and the exhaustion of putting everyone’s needs before my own. I want to empower and equip you with the tools you need to feel relaxed and more like yourself again. I can’t wait to connect with you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

You deserve a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood! My approach to therapy is warm and collaborative, and I value authenticity and humor. I'm passionate about creating a healing space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings free of judgement. My practice draws from several evidenced-based interventions, including CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based strategies. I also view your experience through the lens of the feminist framework, and I honor the strengths you possess and the unique challenges you face as a woman.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is called an intake assessment. This visit lasts 60-75 minutes. During this appointment, I’ll gather essential information about your upbringing, your relationships, your passions, your struggles, your symptoms, and your strengths. We’ll discuss your goals for therapy and develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. At the end of the intake assessment, we’ll discuss my recommendation for the frequency of our sessions. I will also provide referrals for other services that may be helpful or needed, like couples therapy, a checkup with your doctor, or a medication evaluation from a psychiatrist. Continuity of care is important, and I’ll reach out to and coordinate with other professionals involved in your treatment, if needed. Individual therapy sessions are typically weekly or biweekly before tapering to monthly or an ‘as needed’ basis. We’ll spend our sessions processing your thoughts and feelings and learning specific coping skills to help you feel calm and connected again.
