Psychotherapist
MO
Hello, I'm Katrina, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for empowering individuals and couples to overcome hurdles and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. My approach to therapy is collaborative and laid back, yet direct when needed. I believe that your relationship with your therapist should feel supportive and safe, and I strive to offer that to each individual I see. While I work with all individuals, I find my niche in supporting teenagers, adults, and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, infertility, and family of origin difficulties. I welcome and work with all individuals regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status. I utilize a biopsychosocial framework and incorporate a family systems approach, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic techniques. Depending on the situation, I also employ strategic, solution-focused, and emotionally focused lenses. My clinical interests include the mental components of medical challenges, relaxation techniques, familial and relational difficulties, and self-worth. I view my role as a therapist as a guide, seeking to empower, support, and challenge you to live your life freely and authentically. I believe you are the expert on your life, and therapy is most effective when you are engaged and playing an active role. I tailor treatment to meet you where you are and address your individual needs. I have specialized training in EMDR, TF-CBT, MAPS, CBT, PCIT, and Gottman couples therapy, and I have worked extensively with DBT clients. Although my specialty tends to be working with couples, I also have extensive experience (and really enjoy!) working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and PTSD, including postpartum challenges. I thoroughly enjoy helping clients through their darkest moments and sharing in their joy during life's triumphs. It is my honor to assist you in moving through life in a way that honors who you are, where you came from, and where you hope to go. If you're ready to take the next step, I'm here to support you on your journey.
