What should a new client know about working with you?

Dr. Scott believes that every client is unique, and therapy should reflect that. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she tailors treatment to each individual’s needs as she gets to know them and their story, over time. Her eclectic clinical experience allows her to draw from different therapeutic approaches while remaining genuine, authentic, and fully present with each client. Dr. Scott also brings warmth and humor into the therapeutic process when appropriate. She recognizes that exploring painful experiences and memories can be difficult, and sometimes a little humor can create space to breathe, while working through challenging emotions. Her goal is to help clients move through difficult memories at a pace that feels safe and manageable, while supporting them on their journey toward healing, understanding, and greater well-being.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first session, my goal is to get to know you—not just the reasons that brought you to therapy, but who you are as a person, and what you hope to achieve through this process. I want to understand your experiences, your strengths, your challenges, and what matters most to you. Together, we will identify your goals and create a path forward that feels meaningful and manageable. As we continue working together, I will tailor our approach to your individual needs, and guide you through each step. Therapy is a journey, and you do not have to take that journey alone. We will walk through it together, at a pace that respects where you are, and supports where you want to go. You are not alone. Healing is possible, and we will work toward it together.
