Getting to know Katrina Tie

The provider is supervised by "FOX, TARA R". I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas, supervised by Dr. Tara Fox, LPC-S (License #67482). I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, and life’s most overwhelming experiences through EMDR and trauma-informed therapy. My approach is gentle but effective—I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can exhale, slow down, and begin to make sense of what you’ve been carrying. Together, we’ll work to understand how past experiences shape your thoughts and emotions today, and I’ll help you build the tools and resilience to move forward with confidence. Healing doesn’t have to mean reliving your pain. In our sessions, we’ll focus on balance, clarity, and restoring your sense of peace. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, connected, and hopeful about the future.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me means entering a space where your story is heard without judgment and your pace is respected. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to begin, or afraid of “going too deep too fast.” That’s why my first goal is always safety. You can expect a calm, compassionate environment where we move at a pace that feels right for you. I believe that healing happens in relationship, not in pressure or perfection. My approach blends trauma-informed care with evidence-based methods like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), brainspotting, and CBT. We’ll explore the patterns that have helped you survive, and then gently work toward reshaping those patterns so you can truly thrive. Clients often tell me that sessions with me feel grounding and real. I don’t rush the process or focus only on “fixing” symptom; I focus on helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been silenced or burdened by pain. You’ll always have a say in where we go in therapy and how we get there. My goal is to help you build confidence, clarity, and peace, one step at a time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first few sessions, we’ll focus on understanding your story and identifying what you hope to gain from therapy. I take time to get to know your background, triggers, and current supports before creating a personalized plan. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy; each person’s experience of trauma is unique, and our work together will reflect that. As we continue, I integrate EMDR to help process painful memories that may still feel “stuck.” You’ll always be guided through EMDR or brainspotting with preparation and care, making sure you have the grounding tools you need before and after reprocessing. Between EMDR sessions, we may also use CBT, mindfulness, and somatic awareness strategies to strengthen your ability to regulate emotions and stay present in daily life. You can expect our sessions to feel collaborative and structured but gentle. I check in often about what’s working and what’s not so we can adjust together. Over time, most clients notice they’re reacting differently to old stressors. They have less anxiety, fewer intrusive thoughts, more calm confidence. My goal isn’t just symptom relief; it’s lasting change and a deeper connection to yourself and your values. (Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate supervised by Dr. Tara Fox, LPC-S, License #67482.)
