Kay Whitfield, LPC

Kay Whitfield, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Counseling from Walden University, working with teen-adult populations to manage stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, crisis, relationship conflicts, and life transitions. My goal is to promote emotional well-being by partnering with individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. I’m also skilled in supporting women and men who have experienced substance abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and other forms of trauma. I will never claim to be an expert on someone else’s life story; instead, I commit to partnering with you to ensure you feel supported, inspired, and encouraged to grow through the challenges. I believe in treating each person with dignity, respect, and unconditional positive regard. Counseling is a beautiful journey filled with challenges and rewards, and the commitment to personal growth, healing, and freedom is worth every step. In my downtime, you will most likely find me creating music, reading, studying my Bible, and enjoying time with friends and family. I am a huge foodie and a self-proclaimed chef! Part of my self-care routine involves trying new dishes, watching the best TV series, and shopping. I also enjoy traveling and soaking up sunlight. P.S. I like to think I have a great sense of humor once you get to know me, but I’ll let you be the judge.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I can guarantee from each session individuals will feel inspired, safe, and challenged in a therapeutic environment that is embracing, empathetic, and compassionate.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
