Adolescence is defined as the developmental transition to adulthood that includes rapid changes in the brain and body at different rates. It is a time for healthy exploration of identity and learning independence, which can be challenging and stressful—especially with all the chaos in today’s world as we continue to push through the COVID-19 pandemic. Kayeley is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Great Falls College Montana State University and her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Providence, both in Montana. Why Montana? Well, she received an amazing scholarship to play collegiate softball that she could not pass up. After seven years, she had enough of the snow and freezing cold weather; in 2018, Kayeley moved back home to California to continue her career and be closer to family. Kayeley has over nine years of clinical experience working with adolescents and transitional-aged youth (18-24) from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. She specializes in treating individuals struggling with depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm behavior, anxiety, substance use, PTSD, psychosis, and LGBTQ+ issues. Kayeley is qualified to provide crisis stabilization, focusing on trauma and utilizing the Illness Management and Recovery treatment model. She supports clients in learning skills to reduce relapses, manage stress, and cope with various symptoms. Using a person-centered approach, Kayeley strives to create individualized goals that allow clients to recover in ways that best fit them emotionally, socially, and cognitively, while gaining greater self-understanding and awareness.
