What should a new client know about working with you?

I help clients build practical tools to manage anxiety, understand emotions, strengthen relationships, and navigate life’s transitions. My approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from CBT, EFT, ACT, mindfulness, behavioral therapy, and play-based approaches. Together, we’ll find strategies that fit you. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you’re looking for online therapy for anxiety, emotional regulation, or parenting support in New Jersey or New York, I’d be glad to connect. Schedule a consultation to share what’s bringing you and see if we’re a good fit.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy begins with getting to know you, understanding what brings you in, and creating a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Early sessions focus on building trust, exploring your concerns, and identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. From there, we work together to better understand emotions, relationships, and patterns that may be contributing to current challenges. Each session is tailored to your needs and may include conversation, reflection, creative activities, play-based interventions, or practical strategies. Depending on your goals, we may use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Attachment-based, mindfulness, or behavioral therapy. With children, sessions are developmentally appropriate and may incorporate play, art, movement, and caregiver involvement. With teens, building rapport and giving them an active role in therapy are especially important. Family sessions may include parent-child dyads or the entire family. Throughout treatment, we will regularly check in about your progress, adjust our approach as needed, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. The goal is to help you feel more understood, develop practical coping and communication skills, and build confidence in navigating life's challenges beyond the therapy session.
