Kayla Jacobsen, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MN
Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and have been working in the field of mental health for over 5 years. As a relational and trauma-informed therapist, I work alongside individuals navigating anxiety, people-pleasing tendencies, relational trauma, and traits associated with being a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). Many highly sensitive individuals experience heightened empathy, deep emotional processing, and an increased awareness of their environment, which can lead to both unique strengths and challenges. Together, we’ll explore these aspects of your experiences in a safe and nurturing space, fostering resilience, self-acceptance, and growth. My approach blends traditional talk therapy (top-down) and somatic/body-based (bottom-up) strategies. I draw from Somatic-Based Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work), nervous system-focused approaches, and psychodynamic and attachment-based theories. This holistic framework helps us gently uncover the roots of emotional struggles, heal attachment wounds, and strengthen your ability to build meaningful and fulfilling connections—with yourself and others.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
