I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist who’s been working with individuals and couples since 2019, helping people navigate anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges in a way that actually feels doable. My style is warm, real, and conversational. I want you to feel like you can show up as yourself. At the same time, I’m not just here to nod along. When it’s helpful, I’m direct and focused on giving you practical tools you can use outside of sessions. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help you understand patterns, communicate more effectively, and make meaningful changes that stick. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, we’ll work together to get you moving in a direction that feels better and more intentional.

Getting to know Kayla Mannion

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and not worry about being judged. I’m warm and easy to talk to, but I’m also active in sessions. I’ll ask questions, point out patterns, and offer feedback, sometimes gently, sometimes more directly, depending on what’s most helpful. Therapy with me isn’t just about talking; it’s about gaining insight and learning practical ways to handle what you’re going through. If we’re working on anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, you can expect a mix of exploring what’s underneath the surface and building tools you can actually use in your day-to-day life. For couples, that often means improving communication, understanding each other more clearly, and breaking out of unhelpful cycles. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start, just a willingness to show up and be open to the process.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll start by getting a clear understanding of what’s bringing you in and what you’d like to be different. In the first few sessions, I focus on learning your history, current challenges, and patterns, while also making sure you feel comfortable and understood. From there, we’ll set goals together and create a plan that feels realistic and tailored to you. I use approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and relationship dynamics, and to build practical skills you can use outside of sessions. Sessions are collaborative and active. I’ll check in with you regularly about what’s working, what’s not, and adjust as needed. Some sessions may focus more on processing and insight, while others are more skills-based and solution-focused. Over time, the goal is for you to feel more confident managing challenges on your own, with tools and insights that actually stick beyond therapy.
