Getting to know Kayla Zimmermann

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know. - Winnie the Pooh Hello! My name is Kayla. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and my Master's degree in Social Work from Aurora University. I have experience working at a severe residential facility with foster care children and I have also worked with all ages in private practice. I believe that therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when anxiety, depression, or major life transitions begin to impact your relationships, confidence, and day-to-day life. You don’t have to navigate those challenges alone. I work with teenagers, adults, and moms who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and significant life changes. I have a particular interest in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and motherhood, recognizing that becoming a mom can bring both beautiful and challenging emotions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. Together, we will work to better understand what you’re experiencing, develop healthy coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build greater confidence in your ability to handle life’s challenges.
