Psychotherapist
UT
I believe that you are an expert on your life, and I’m here to create a partnership that utilizes both of our combined knowledge to help you reach where you want to be. I use a holistic, strengths-based, humanistic approach, believing that unconditional positive regard provides a foundation for rapport and healthy therapeutic alliances. I strongly believe that a client-centered approach allows clients to identify their authentic selves, and I partner with my clients to actualize the best version of themselves. I specialize in working with clients struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and am deeply passionate about supporting individuals and families on their road to recovery. I also have particular experience working with resistant clients, mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and failure-to-launch young adults. I began working in the treatment field in 2008 as a field guide for a wilderness therapy program and have been in the mental health field ever since. Over time, I advanced into leadership roles, including Outdoor Program Director for an adventure therapy program and Executive Director for a women’s residential dual diagnosis substance abuse facility. These experiences are combined with various community mental health positions, where I worked with low-income children and families and at a holistic health center that detoxed clients off prescription medications. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Arizona State University and then worked for years as a primary and family therapist, supporting high-conflict kids and families in crisis. These diverse experiences have allowed me to tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual. When I’m not being of service to others, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, canyoneering, playing hockey, snowboarding, traveling, reading, yoga, meditation, and a good Netflix binge.
